This painting originated from an encounter with two men on a Warsaw bus – their distinctive, unconventional faces captivated me immediately. I’ve always been drawn to people who exist outside conventional beauty standards, those whose life experiences and character are visibly etched into their features. The figures emerge from a dreamlike landscape of shifting colors, their presence both haunting and dignified. Silver foil circles punctuate the composition, adding a sense of elevation and reverence – a visual halo that honors the profound humanity I witnessed in their faces.
