CLOSE UP

This landscape pulls the viewer deep into its space. At the center: a golden stain, a puddle reflecting light. I was living in Warsaw then, surrounded by the city’s persistent greyness. This luminous pool appeared almost despite me, something alive and radiant breaking through the monochrome. Looking back, this feels like the seed of what would bloom on my works later.
