UNFOLDING
ACRYLIC ON PAPER, 50x70cm, 2019
An early work, more minimalist in approach, that captures a form in the act of becoming. The composition is simple – a shape developing before the viewer’s eyes, a seed cracking, a gesture opening. There’s no narrative conclusion, simply the process itself. The work embodies patience and attention to incremental change, the kind of transformation that happens so slowly it’s almost imperceptible until suddenly it’s undeniable. This is the seed of everything that follows, the first recognition that stillness contains movement waiting to unfold.
